Control of Gastric pH with Intravenous Ranitidine (Curan^(®)) in Patients with Peptic Ulcer Bleeding

Abstract

|
We studied ten patients with peptic ulcer bleeding to evaluate the effect of intravenous ranitidine 5C mg every 6 hr. Response was assessed by measuring intragastric pH during 24 hours. The gastric pH could be maintained above 5.0 in all patients. Therefore intravenous ranitidine may be useful in the management of peptic ulcer bleeding, and deserved continuous assessment.
